Bales of Mercy Orphanage is a registered non-profit caring for over 120 orphaned and vulnerable children in Bariga, Lagos. We provide shelter, food, education and healthcare — and we treat the data you share with us with the same care we give the children.

Bales of Mercy Orphanage (“we”, “us”, “our”) is a registered non-profit based at 16 Akinola Street, Ladi-Lak, Bariga, Lagos, Nigeria. We are responsible for the personal information you share with us through this website.

02 Information we collect
We only collect what we need to care for our children and to thank and update our supporters. This may include:
- Your name and contact details (email, phone) when you donate, fill in the contact form, or subscribe to updates.
- Donation details — the amount, frequency and date of your gift.
- Messages and enquiries you send us.
- Basic technical data such as your browser type and general location, collected to keep the site secure and working well.
03 How we use your information
We use your information to:
- Process your donation and send you a receipt.
- Keep you updated about the children and the impact of your support (only if you’ve asked us to).
- Respond to your questions and requests.
- Meet our legal, accounting and reporting obligations.
We will never sell, rent or trade your personal information to anyone. Ever.
04 Donations & payments
Donations are processed securely by our trusted payment provider, Paystack. When you give, your card and payment details are entered directly with Paystack and handled under their security standards (PCI-DSS).
We do not see or store your full card number. We only receive confirmation of your gift and the details you choose to share with us, such as your name and email for a receipt.
05 Cookies
We use a small number of cookies to remember your preferences (such as light or dark mode) and to understand how visitors use the site so we can improve it. You can disable cookies in your browser settings at any time, though some features may not work as well.
06 When we share information
We only share your information with:
- Our payment providers, to process your donation.
- Service providers who help us run the site or send our updates, under strict confidentiality.
- Authorities, only where we are legally required to do so.
07 How we protect your data
We use appropriate technical and organisational measures to keep your information safe, and we limit access to those who genuinely need it to do their work. We keep your information only for as long as necessary to fulfil the purposes above.
08 Your rights
You have the right to:
- Ask what personal information we hold about you.
- Correct anything that is inaccurate.
- Ask us to delete your information.
- Unsubscribe from our updates at any time, using the link in every email or by contacting us.

09 Children’s privacy & images
We hold the dignity and safety of our children above all else. We only publish a child’s photograph or story with appropriate consent, and we never share identifying details that could put a child at risk. This website is intended for adult supporters; we do not knowingly collect information from children.
10 Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we’ll change the “last updated” date at the top of this page. Significant changes will be highlighted on the site.
