Our kitchen garden takes root

Our kitchen garden takes root

Behind the dining hall, a patch of bare ground has become rows of tomatoes, peppers and leafy greens — tended entirely by the children.

They plant, water and harvest, then carry the produce straight to the kitchen. There is real pride in eating something you grew yourself.

It teaches patience and care, and it trims a little off the food bill too. We call that a good harvest.
